Next month the Greek amusement and gaming machine industry will move to the next stage with the proposed technical standards for games.

The Technical Standard document, which was published in April, comes to the end of its “standstill” period on July 4.

The proposed technical standards have been unpopular with the industry. However, they constitute a sea-change in direction for the Greek government, which previously banned all types of electronic games from public places. The new law on machines has been introduced in order to raise some much needed public taxes.
