The largest FEC in the Middle East is set for a formal launch towards the end of April.

Gondolania Entertainment City, covering 20,000sq.m all under one roof, is located in the up-marked Villaggio Mall at Doha, capital of Qatar. It is operated by the Fun Fair Company, whose CEO Michel Koborsi gave the centre a soft opening in December last year.

More of the FEC’s rides and coin equipment have come on stream since then and Koborsi believes that a major celebration with formal ribbon-cutting ceremony can take place at or around the time of the DEAL show in neighbouring Dubai when many of the centre’s suppliers will be in the region anyway.

"We have been operating to 3,000 to 4,000 people daily since the soft opening," said Koborsi, "but at weekends this has risen to 10,000 to 12,000 per day."

A full report on Gondolania will appear in an InterGame Middle East Special Issue due to be published with our April magazine.
