A new giant wheel to be erected to give a bird’s eye view of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, will also have a giant video screen.
The Whey Aye wheel will be situated on the city’s Quayside and a new video to show how it will transform the immediate area has been put together by the developer. Local councillors last week approved advertising consent for a giant screen to be attached to the wheel.
The video shows the landscaped areas and car park leading up to the big wheel as well as the structures that will house a virtual golf club and FEC.
The video will show advertising, movies and sporting events on a massive scale at the front of the 460ft high wheel that will be built on the old Spillers Mill site on the riverside.
There was some opposition to the giant video display; some objectors saying that it would be a blot on the landscape.
Behind the entire project is the World Wheel Company who said that the advertising that would be visible on the screen would be 449sq.m in size.
