Shoppers in Uxbridge, UK, did a double take over the weekend as they walked past a car crushed beneath an enormous 2m bowling ball, weighing in at 1,700kg.
No, it’s not a film set - it’s how Hollywood Bowl announced the arrival of its new FEC in the area. The dramatic stunt marks the opening of Hollywood Bowl Uxbridge, the latest addition to The Chimes Shopping Centre.
The new centre boasts 22 bowling lanes, four duckpin lanes, a wide range of amusement machines and an American-style bar and diner.
Said Rachael Hayward, regional support manager for Hollywood Bowl: “We wanted to make a statement that Uxbridge would not forget - and what better way than a giant bowling ball dropped from the sky?”
