“We have been present in the UK for 15 years now,” said company chairman Paul Gauselmann. “Especially in the last few years, the market has become more and more significant for our company. It offers stable legal parameters and is currently experiencing a technological shift to video-based multigames, which, in contrast to Germany, is not yet fully completed.”

The group is currently represented in the UK through its subsidiaries, which include digital games developer Blueprint Gaming, gaming venue operator Praesepe, software company Betcom and gaming machine operator Regal Leisure.

“All in all, our 2,000-plus employees in the UK bring in sales of around €250m,” Gauselmann said.

“Due to the sheer size and importance of the UK business for the entire company, we have decided, parallel to Germany, to consolidate our business activities in the UK with the aim of optimising the exchange and flow of information both between the subsidiaries and to Germany.

“The on-going success in Germany is particularly due to the close interaction between development, production and operating activities. Our goal now is to establish the successful business model even more strongly in the UK in future. With Sascha Blodau, we have been able to win over a renowned industry expert who, with his know-how, will contribute substantially to the company's success in the British market.”
