G Look was the only Chinese company to take its own stand during the EAG Expo held last week, the reason quite simply being that the company feels no one could represent them it better than itself.

"The European market is very important to us and we always take our own stand," said general manager Eric Leung. "In previous years this has been at Earls Court but this year we decided to move over to the new EAG Expo to see what it is like."

With this in mind the manufacturer did not take any of its products to the show in case accessibility was difficult like at Earls Court. However, Leung told InterGame that next year it will definitely have product on show as he was pleased with the location and access.

"I was concerned at first that visitors might not know where the exhibition was being held or would have difficulty getting here and I feel for next year’s exhibition the organisers should do more to promote transport links and information on how to get to the exhibition centre."

G Look used the exhibition as a platform to further understand customers’ needs outside of China and to promote its brand. There are five main regions it is focusing on for 2010 - Europe, eastern Europe, the US, the Middle East and south-east Asia.

With regard to its domestic market, G Look told InterGame that amusement manufacturers are continuing to push innovative new product out and that the continued support of the Chinese Government is encouraging.

"Last year regions across the country began to gain certification to set up amusement arcades," he said. "Over the next few years there will be almost 20,000 certificates processed, which means plenty of opportunities for machine manufacturers.

"If each arcade holds around 200 machines then that is four million machines in operation," he continued. "Each manufacturer currently makes around 10,000 machines each year and the new certification process will definitely benefit the industry as there is huge potential."
