Funworld demonstrated its full range of products for 2010 last month at both the IMA exhibition in Dusseldorf and the IGE in London.

Speaking at IMA, Christina Hinterleiter told InterGame that although the German market is a tough one to break - as there is a lot of focus on multigames - there are definitely opportunities available especially for its sports betting and ‘funwin’ terminals which provide operators with something different for their locations. Funwin is a skill games platform for operators providing web-based games specifically developed for the coin-op sector.

The Photo Play terminals continue to be popular with them making up around a third of Funworld’s total year turnover and new markets include Russia and the UK, where initial steps have been made.

Funworld’s online amusement poker product proved more popular with visitors to the IGE show compared with Germany - mainly relating to uncertainty of legislation in the country. Providing an online version of the classic Texas Hold’em game as well as a live international poker network, players are able to challenge each other on exciting live tables at different levels.

"We are seeing a definite trend towards skill gaming and online gaming is continuing to grow," said Hinterleiter. "Although the Photo Play brand is still very important to us and a strong focus of the company, we have broadened our product range to cover these growing trends in the industry. We don’t just focus on the operator - we also take the players into consideration."

The benefits of Funworld’s online terminals are further shown by the ability for players to play from anywhere that has internet access - they obtain a code from the location operator, which then allows them access to the online games and tournaments - meaning they also remain loyal to the location. "Multiplayer games are becoming increasingly important to the industry and we are connecting more and more of terminals to the internet," said Hinterleiter.
