The UK amusement industry has lost another of its veterans. Ron Bastin, perhaps best known for his time at Ace Coin Equipment, died on August 11 aged 73.

He was for most of his life in the operating side of the industry, initially with brewery companies, joining the AWP operating industry with Bass Leisure. He joined Ace where he worked successfully for a considerable number of years.

Ron settled down to run his own amusement arcade at Hednesford, Staffordshire, but maintained a strong connection with the trade association BACTA.
