Over 1100 workers at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida are being laid off by the company.

It was announced that the Covid-related layoffs would be completed by the end of the year.

Florida attractions have been in the news for being forced to make workers redundant with Disney laying off as many of 18,000 of its staff in the state and SeaWorld another 2,000.

In the case of Universal, the redundancies have been accompanied by news that the park will delay the building of its new theme park, Epic Universe.
