The Thunder Road Family Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has added a VR arena to its range of attractions.
The Omni Virtual Reality Arena has replaced axe-throwing at the location with the manager stating that that they had been looking at installing a VR arena for a while but wanted one which "took VR to the next level."
Similar to other VR systems, players wear a VR headset and use controllers to interact with the virtual world. The Omni includes a 360-degree treadmill that matches the pace of movements in the game.
With the Omni system supporting up to four players at a time, players can participate in monthly and weekly Omni VR contests.
Other attractions at Thunder Road Family Park include bowling, laser tag, an arcade, bumper cars, mini-golf, ropes courses and karting.
