Now in its second year, the programme allows guests to play specially designed crane machines at FACE Amusement locations for a chance to win a plush bear. For each bear won in 2019, FACE will donate an additional bear to NDSS, a leading human rights organisation for all individuals with Down syndrome.

The charity push has seen 10,000 donated bears to date.

“We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the National Down syndrome Society and help brighten the lives of their members through our Bear Hugs programme,” said Bucky Mabe, CEO of FACE Amusement Group. “As a company, we believe it’s important to do something bigger than ourselves and give back to inspirational organisations such as NDSS.”

As part of its work, the National Down Syndrome Society hosts the Buddy Walk initiative across the US. The event raises awareness and funds for programmes that benefit people with Down syndrome and their families. This year, FACE Amusement Group has pledged to donate over 4,000 plush bears to these events.

At the Buddy Walk event in New York City this moth, FACE team members will personally distribute 600 bears to NDSS members in attendance. In 2019, the operator will have participated in a total of 16 walks.

FACE Amusement Group owns and operates 21 locations across the US.
