Paola Borettaz, sales manager of sports games company Roberto Sport, thought last week’s Spring ENADA in Rimini, Italy, was smaller and quieter because it is expensive to attend in the current climate.

“It costs a lot to exhibit here and at the moment the market is quiet, so many people cannot afford it,” she told InterGame. “We were fortunate in that someone nearby pulled out at the last minute and we were able to improve our stand.

“It is important for us to be here and to see our customers. The season is about to begin and operators are beginning to think about which games they will buy.”

She added that the earlier EAG Expo in London was also quiet this year. “People just don’t have the money to travel – they will take a look at your website instead.”

The company was showing a new football table with an improved system for introducing new balls to the game.
