Hungarian distributor EuroPlay Trade presented a plethora of new product on behalf of various international companies at last week's Gamexpo show and had one of the busiest stands.
Fruit Run Plus from Veltmeijer was a main focus of the stand and follows in the footsteps of EuroPlay’s best selling game, Fruit Run, which sold over 1,000 machines.
Commenting on the Hungarian market, general manager Laszlo Palhegyi told InterGame: “The economic situation is a big problem which is having a knock-on affect on the gaming industry.
“There are also the processes involved when trying to obtain a licence, which take time and slow things down. A manufacturer will have a product, which needs to go through approval, then if an operator wants to buy the machine it has to be tested again. Then they have to go to the gaming board with all the relevant documents before the machine gets finally approved.
“Because of this the number of machines actually being sold has dropped – people are taking machines to test before they buy.”
