It is going to be a lean end of 2020 and beginning of 2021 for the coin-operated amusement industry across Europe.

Poland has ordered a four-week lockdown from December 28, closing all hospitality and entertainment locations. The UK is now mostly in Tier 3 lockdown in all four countries. Wales is in another complete lockdown that started on Saturday and parts of England are now in a new Tier 4 of extra restrictions with Scotland going into complete lockdown from December 26; Italy is lockdown over most of the Christmas and New Year period.

In the Netherlands and Germany there are lockdowns until January and the government of Austria is ordering a third lockdown after Christmas. Sweden is still the most liberal but has cut restaurants to four-to-a-table and no alcohol after 8pm; France has a curfew from 8pm until 6am that will be lifted for Christmas Eve but not for New Year’s Eve.

Greece is locked down until January 7 and Spain has limited get-togethers over Christmas to 10 people and already has a curfew between 11pm and 6am. Belgium has relaxed the rules for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but arcades remain shut. Hospitality and entertainment in the Czech Republic closed last week; Denmark has banned alcohol sales after 10pm until January 3 as well as bars, restaurants and night clubs.
