A US$10m esports stadium is planned to be built as part of a $2bn development near Columbus, Ohio, US.

More details of the project were revealed this week by developers, Blue Horseshoe Ventures and it promises a 30,000sq.ft multi-level and multi-use arena.

The facility will include a 50ft LED wall, VIP lounges and exhibition show matches, as well as a broadcast center and production studio,  It will also showcase some emerging technologies in gaming, including 8K projection, artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

Targeted both toward local competitions and a growing national circuit of esports teams and events, the arena will form part of the greater Planet Oasis development, a multi-billion dollar entertainment, sports, health and wellness venue, built on more than 350 acres.

75 restaurants, over 15 hotels and up to 20 attractions are initially planned with an UltraStar Multi-tainment Centre offering VIP bowling, laser tag, virtual golf, video games, cinema complex, go-karts and indoor skydiving.

Construction is to begin in December 2018, and hopes to be complete by 2020.
