UK-based distributor Electrocoin has been linked to many products over the years, most notably the Bar X range, video games such as Golden Tee Golf, Stern Pinball's machines and redemption machines.
More recently the company has been making headway in the UK single-site market, with Casino Crazy receiving full retailer approval.
Commenting on the recent successes, the company’s Kevin Weir said: "It has been the company’s intention to address the single site market for a number of years now; indeed it was one of the reasons that I joined the company seven years ago.
"We had some previous experience many years ago with Famous Games, but it became clear that we couldn’t re-kindle that success as too much time had lapsed and the industry had moved on.
"However, we constantly monitored the situation and about a year ago believed that as a result of mergers and takeovers, there was a gap in the market for a new name in the single-site business. We weighed up the possibility of developing our own platform but acknowledged the fact that using an existing manufacturer would bring huge advantages to us and operators alike.
"We have had a long relationship with Bell Fruit Games, so there was an obvious opportunity to progress discussions with a view to BFG building our high-tech developments. We agreed that its Eclipse Scorpion 5 was ideally suited to our needs and we have not been disappointed with that decision.
"Don’t get me wrong, it was a big decision to establish an in-house design team," continued Weir. "The costs are significant, but we believed that this was a measured approach to entering the market. The Electrocoin development team has worked closely with BFG, the net result being two successful models, with a third, Lets Play Darts, moving to secondary test at present.
"Looking forward, we have a range of fresh ideas lined up for triennial review and believe that our entry into the market will give retailers a better choice of machines, thus maximising the potential of the new Category C stakes and prize levels.
"The industry has always known that John Stergides (owner of Electrocoin) has never been one to stand still and he has proved there are always opportunities even in a market that is experiencing some of the most testing trading conditions in its history."
