Elaut USA is on the move. The company, which is the American operating and distributing arm of the famous Belgian crane makers, is run by Neal Rosenberg from offices in New Jersey.
Currently the company has two sets of premises in the state, at Edison and at Lakewood. Now Rosenberg is proposing to consolidate the two into one new purpose-built building at Lakewood, covering 25,000sq.ft, 10,000sq.ft up on the combined space the company currently uses. The move should take place in September.
"Contrary to what appears to be happening in the industry elsewhere," said Rosenberg, "Elaut cranes are enjoying a major boom here in North America. We use the European-style showcasing for the cranes, with high value prizes and therefore have no concerns about percentaging. It is working very well."
He said that cranes are currently built in Belgium and shipped across the Atlantic, but the new facility would enable assembly in the US, passing on the savings to customers. Rosenberg expects to employ 40-50 staff in building the games in New Jersey.
