Reviewing ICE, Crane Payment Innovations sales director for EMEA gaming, Anette Jauch, said the company’s coin and banknote validators had done well, but the star was the Easitrax Connect platform and the CPI Ticket Purchasing Kiosk.

The validators included the industry’s favoured SC Advance note handling device and now it can come with a hardware/software platform to combine the SC Advance with real-time payment connectivity.

The technology provides a wealth of features and benefits and it will work intuitively. Operators now have a real-time view of all of their note validators and how they – and the machines – are performing. The drop can be managed to the extent where full cashboxes do not affect play as a warning is sent to the operator as the box nears capacity. Dubious bills are also identified immediately and maintenance issues are raised before a breakdown even occurs.

“Easitrax Connect is simple to install. There are just three elements to it,” said Jauch. “First, you need our small Universal Connectivity Box that easily attaches to our SC Advance banknote validators. Then, you bring the hardware online by connecting it to a casino’s Ethernet network. This is what enables the real-time data to be shown on the final piece of our Easitrax Connect solution – our mobile-friendly web application. That’s it. The UCB is future-proof to connect to other devices later down the road – like cashless and mobile payment devices.”

The Ticket Purchasing Kiosk is CPI’s response to the cashless situation. Players who do not carry banknotes or prefer cashless payments to buy TITO tickets can select the amount to be deducted from their card and it is paid out as a TITO ticket.
