The stamina and patience of the UK amusement industry may be tested next week as it has historically (strikes, exhibition halls burning down, power cuts, etc.), but the threatened freeze-up won’t faze the EAG Expo at ExCel.

Show manager Karen Cooke told InterGame today that the ExCel authorities have “done all in their power” to smooth the way for frozen visitors if the forecast snow and ice arrives.

“The heating will be on and we’ll make sure that everyone’s ‘toasty’,” said Cooke, “and just to make sure that visitors are really comfortable we are planning to hand out mulled wine!”

The show, said Cooke, which opens on Tuesday for a three-day run, will have 135 stands, five up on 2012, but taking up the same floor area. Those exhibitors will represent 168 manufacturers.
