Through this acquisition, Waterland strengthens its position within the Dutch land-based gaming industry. Krijco is among the largest operators in the Dutch market and employs over 200 people.

Waterland is also a majority shareholder in JVH gaming and entertainment group, which operates 53 casinos under the Jack's Casino and Flash Casinos brands across the Netherlands.

Eric Olders, CEO of JVH gaming (pictured), said: "We are extremely pleased with the addition of Krijco to our gaming group. It is a perfect geographic addition to our business. We expect to create a lot of synergies and a great co-operation within the group."

Corry van Amstel, CEO of Krijco, added: "With this acquiring group we have found the perfect new ‘home’ for our company and our people. They are ambitious and professional, and so we leave our business in solid hands."

The parties involved are expected to finalise the transaction within a few weeks.
