One of the biggest attractions groups in the Middle East, Dubai Parks and Resorts, will not see guests at its venues until September 23.

The operator confirmed the date, revealed in Arab News this week, adding that annual pass holders who have been denied access since it closed in the pandemic shutdown in March, will have an automatic extension.

The location is meanwhile bringing in 12 new rides with eight of them due to open for the final quarter of the year. Mohammed Almulla, managing director and CEO of DXB Entertainments, said that the summer months were in any case "low season" for the theme parks. “We are therefore utilising this period to complete the maintenance works and focus on the enhancement programme for Motiongate Dubai and  Bollywood Parks Dubai,” he said.

During the first six months of last year, the collection of theme parks, located just outside of Dubai at Jebel Ali, entertained 1.4m guests.
