Dubai’s extensive FECs and attractions businesses will reopen from today, May 27.

The authorities have included cinemas with social distancing and sterilisation in the list of businesses that may reopen alongside, entertainment centres and recreational venues such as the Dubai Ice Rink and Dolphinarium.

The rules insist on masks by all guests and employees and a two-metre distancing policy, but the ban on children under 12 and adults over 60 entering shopping centres (where most FECs are located) remains in place.

Meanwhile in neighbouring Saudi Arabia the curfew is being removed entirely. From June 21, the kingdom expects the lockdown to be removed totally and life return to normal, which will be good news for the country’s big FEC operators.
