From tomorrow, April 29, Thomas and Percy's Submarine Splash will be open to the public, taking kids on a Thomas the Tank Engine-themed journey.

The "baby flume", as it is termed by Birmingham Mail, has 15 mini drops, with its opening date coinciding with the 15th anniversary of Thomas Land, where it resides.

The Thomas & Friends IP is officially licensed from Mattel.

Director of Mattel, Julie Freeland, said of the new addition: "We are thrilled to be able to expand upon the more than 25 rides and attractions at Thomas Land and offer new experiences for families to enjoy together.

"With the addition of Thomas & Percy's Submarine Splash, Thomas fans will be able to partake in even more immersive adventures with their favourite Thomas & Friends characters whether by land, air or sea."

Drayton Manor Resort, managing director of Victoria Lynn, said: "The arrival of Thomas & Percy's Submarine Splash ride is an exciting milestone for Thomas Land as it celebrates its 15th anniversary. We're certain that Thomas fans across the Midlands and beyond will want to enter the immersive world of Thomas Land themselves."
