Various news outlets have recently expressed their disbelief that the proposed Paramount Pictures resort in Bali will be built.
Planned for construction in Pekutatan, Jembrana, southwest Bali, the theme park and resort was part of a deal with entertainment and technology company, PT Kios Ria Kreasi (Kios).
Reasons cited for these doubts are among: Paramount’s track record for shelving large-scale projects; a potential clash with local community, culture and heritage; and the Indonesian government’s removal of a slate of projects from the National Strategic Project List.
