Sean Young, managing director of Leisure Electronics and Wexel Gaming, has announced the addition of Simon Wykes, the former leader of Gala and Mecca Bingo, to the board of both companies in a non-executive capacity.

Young said: "The business is undergoing a period of rapid change since we added the fast-growing Wexel Gaming digital business to our long-established Leisure Electronics business."
Leisure Electronics has been supplying the bingo and gaming industry since 1991. It specialises in the installation, refurbishment and maintenance of bingo clubs and adult gaming centres.
"Our excellence in electronics combined with our knowledge of the sector (we have nearly 150 years of experience in the team) make us the go-to supplier for any bingo club or AGC investing in their premises," added Young.
"On top of the base business, we are beginning to see rapid growth in our digital business, Wexel Gaming. Wexel is growing rapidly by listening closely to customers and understanding their needs. With space at a premium, Wexel initially delivered tablet fruit machine solutions for AGCs that were looking to maximise machine numbers within a smaller footprint.
"We have since developed our tablet solutions further to supply digital bingo in AGCs, bingo clubs and holiday parks and digital roulette onto cruise ships. We understand the pressures of operating retail premises and so always focus on low cost solutions, both in terms of equipment and running costs.
"As the business is growing, we needed more support to assist in the setting of the strategic direction of the business. Simon's knowledge of the sector and people, experience in digitalising gaming businesses and understanding of the challenges facing the retail sector make him the perfect appointment."
Wykes added: "This business is one of the hidden gems in the gaming industry and I am keen to raise its profile and build on people's understanding of what the business can offer."
