There is going to be a delay in updates to the UK gaming stakes and prizes by the Department of Culture Media and Sport, the ruling government ministry for gambling in the country.

Every three years there is a revision to the regulations concerning the level of stakes and prizes and it was generally hoped within the machine industry that there would be increases for AWP machines (Category C) and curbs on the levels applying to fixed odds betting terminals in bookmakers’ shops. This is known as the Triennial Review.

Yesterday during questions in Parliament, DCMS minister Tracey Crouch confirmed that publication of the consultation document on stakes and prizes would not be before October. This news was met with dismay by interested parties within the UK gaming industry.
