As the annual Dubai show got under way yesterday for the largest event in the show’s history, we understand that the organiser, International Expo-Consults, was heavily involved in negotiations over dates for next year.
A desire to avoid clashing with the Easter holidays, as the show has coincided this year, is being offset by concerns about the halls that might be available. This week’s show is being held in the interconnecting Hall 1 and three Za-abeel halls that is working well. Our understanding is that a decision is likely to be reached before the end of this year’s expo over whether it will go into the third week of March, or the third week of April…the latter coinciding with Easter. The date notwithstanding, DEAL 2018 has drawn all kinds of records for the number of exhibitors, the space they are occupying and the number of visitors was clearly up on 2017.
