Dave and Buster's in the US has settled charges the company failed to adequately secure credit and debit card information of its customers.
The FEC operator, which has 53 locations, was hacked in 2007 by an intruder who installed unauthorised software and intercepted data sent from the locations to credit card processing companies.
Around 130,000 cards were affected with banks paying out "several hundred thousand dollars in fraudulent charges."
According to the Federal Trade Commission, after learning of the breach Dave and Buster’s took steps to prevent further unauthorised access and to notify law enforcement and the credit card companies of affected consumers.
The settlement requires Dave and Buster’s to put in place a comprehensive security program.
