The Danish trade association DAB is planning to sue the Gaming Board over unfair taxation.

John Brochstedt, president of DAB, told InterGame: “Operators of AWPs in Denmark pay the highest tax on machine income anywhere in Europe – a staggering 71 per cent of cashbox. Yet online gambling operators are taxed at a fraction of that. We believe this to be not only unfair, but illegal.”

DAB has hired a lawyer to handle the case, and as a result has had to increase its fees for members. Currently there are 27,000 AWP machines in Denmark and DAB has 80 members.
