InterGame caught up with managing director Jenny Impens at this year’s DEAL show in Dubai where she initially outlined her and her colleague’s plans for growth in the sector and Ice-Capade is one of the company’s first projects, which it has high hopes for.
The concept offers a range of ice-focused activities such as skating for all ages, bumper cars on ice, ice slides, overhead ropes courses and ziplines, a playground for younger guests and a stylish central café for parents to relax while their children play.
Targeted at both families and corporate demographics, Ice-Capade majors on adventure as its main theme while all activities are designed to be suitable for team building and other similar events.
Ideally, the concept requires an area of approximately 3500sq.m with a minimum of 7m height clearance, but Ice-Capade has been designed with an eye specifically on flexibility, making it easy to adapt to different-sized budgets and facilities from shopping malls to standalone locations or, equally, to be incorporated into an existing ice-rink.
“We have developed Ice-Capade with the intention to offer investors and developers a concept which focuses on the efficient usage of space, skill-driven activities, repeat visitation and the targeting of different groups to optimise footfall,” said Impens. “We were driven by ease of installation and flexibility when we devised with the concept. We believe Ice-Capade is a unique and contemporary product that leverages current trends of getting active, healthy living and encouraging non-digital social activities.”
