There is confusion in the Scottish arcades business over whether or not they can open.

On Friday it was announced that arcades can open if they are in a Level 2 area of the coronavirus lockdown, but the actual wording of the published legislation said that they would have to close.
Industry leaders were immediately in contact with Scottish Government civil servants to try to clarify the situation, but it appeared that the written ban was incorrect and all would be clarified today (Monday).
Meanwhile, the Welsh Government announced that there would be a national approach to a lockdown, rather than a regional one and all businesses will resume trading together at the end of the endeavour.
Over the border in England, however, as things stand the picture is much more confused with different rules applying to different areas as different degrees of lockdown are applied in adjoining regions. However, a nationwide lockdown is to begin on Thursday, November 5, running at least up until December 2.
