It was perhaps inevitable that the principal amusement trade show in the Middle East should have competition.

DEAL, in Dubai, which concluded on Wednesday of last week, will face competition later this year. During the show brochures were handed out for the Qatar Amusement and Education Exhibition.

QAEE, as it will be called, is set for November 1-3, 2011 at the Qatar Exhibition Centre and is to be organised by Al Lusail Marketing and Media Services. The show, according to the organisers, will present the same equipment as can currently be seen at DEAL, plus a wide seminar programme.

For the organisers, Amira Jamaa said: "Based on correspondence with foreign companies, we believe that the participants will number over 100."

DEAL has already fought off one competitor. A proposal to run a rival show in Abu Dhabi two years ago came to naught when the event was cancelled.
