AMI Entertainment, parent company of UK-based SWP developer Games Warehouse, has said it is committed to being one of the leaders in the UK market.
While market conditions in the UK are tough, for AMI's Mike Maas it is all about figuring out what the players are interested in and there have been some interesting ideas coming through from various members of the team, particularly since the reorganisation earlier in the year.
"The overall economy in the UK is brutal," said Maas, "and everything going on in the EU is a real concern; it is going to affect the UK at some point. While the pub sector has been suffering, in my opinion there were too many pubs in the UK to begin with and things needed to change and needed a shake up.
"I think however, while conditions may be rough at the moment we're moving towards a stabling of the SWP sector and there's definitely enough business there for us to stay interested."
One area AMI is looking to move away from however is the video AWP in the street market. An area which everyone has desperately wanted to perform well, but one that has flopped, Maas told InterGame that AMI will now concentrate its efforts on sectors that are actually viable such as UK Category B3 machines."
