A 20,000sq.ft climbing centre is to be opened in Oldham, England, by Conlon Construction.

The venue will be named Summit Up and will be in operation by next summer. The local council has approved a plan for the leisure facility and it will be one of the largest indoor climbing venues in the UK.

Work is already under way on the project which will be operated by the Stroller Charitable Trust, offering a range of climbing and retail facilities, including a Clip ‘n’ Climb wall and three disciplines of speed climbing lead climbing and bouldering.

It will also include a soft play area, café and viewing areas, all delivered by Entre-Prises, the distributor of the Clip ‘n’ Climb products.
