Canadian cinema chain Cineplex has released details of Junxion, a new concept that is a movie theatre, dining destination and entertainment complex.
Following the increasing trend of immersive and experience-led locations, Junxion is set to be a destination designed for all ages and demographics.
The cinema offering will include UltraAVXTM or Ultra Audio Visual Experience, Cineplex's "next level of cinema," with a giant, wall-to-wall screen and reclining seats to which guests can have food and drinks served.
An open lobby for events and performances will offer a stage for live music and space for outdoor screenings, while an amusement games and attractions area will include new and classic video and redemption games.
Interactive experiences like virtual reality from VRstudios will also feature.
Junxion's food hall will have an indoor food truck and a bar offering a selection of wine and beer.
A full programme of events, including live music, trivia nights, game nights, outdoor screenings of movies and live TV events will provide further options.

As Canada's entertainment landscape continues to evolve, we are proudly introducing this state-of-the-art community hub where families and friends can come together to play, dine, unwind and have fun." The first location will be at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, as part of the Centre's on-going redevelopment. 45,000sq.ft will include six auditoriums plus the other entertainment areas. The complex is targeted to open in late 2020.
Cineplex plans to open similar entertainment destination locations across, leveraging retrofits of its existing theatre network as well as new locations, including at Kildonan Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The company now operates 165 theatres across the country.
