Chuck E Cheese is coming to Europe with a proposed rash of new FEC developments.

It was revealed on Yahoo! News at the weekend that Bucharest, Romania will be the first venue in the plan which is to expand the company’s international footprint into the European Union.

A franchise agreement has been signed with EWAS Management Solutions to open the first stores in the country.

Arun Barnes, COO of CEC said: “The company is well positioned for a strong recovery post-pandemic and international development is a key pillar for our long-term growth. Expanding into the EU is an exciting step for the brand while continuing to bring a safe and fun environment.”

EWAS is owned by husband and wife partnership Gabriel and Anda Teodorescu, from family with many years of retail experience. Teodorescu said: “I experienced the Chuck E Cheese brand with my family on an international trip and saw an exciting opportunity of bringing this brand to Romania. During our due diligence of the brand, we were impressed with a robust, turnkey, highly profitable franchise business model.”

CEC operates nearly 100 international locations in 17 regions and recently opened its first store in El Salvador and its eighth in Peru. It is proposing to open its first venue in Bahrain shortly. In all, CEC has 556 Chuck E Cheese locations and 114 under the Peter Piper Pizza brand.
