A lawsuit filed earlier this year by a San Diego mother against the pizza arcade chain CEC Entertainment, alleging that certain machines operated by the company violated California's prohibition on illegal slot machines, has been dismissed with prejudice, according to industry sources.

The lawsuit claimed specifically that CEC had run foul of the state's Unfair Competition Law by operating redemption games and named 11 specific ticket redemption games made by many of the industry's best-known game manufacturers. It claimed the games are illegal because they do not allow the player to control or predict their outcome.
