The family short-break holidays company is proposing to open one of its villages just outside of Hawick on the Scottish borders.

The £400m investment will mean 1,200 local jobs, the company said in a news release. It is holding a series of consultations on the project.

It will be the first Center Parcs location to open in Scotland. The application for planning permission is now with the Scottish Borders Council for approval.
