Sixty Canadian family entertainment centres and theme parks are hoping to open for the last week of this month or early next month.

Some, notably in Toronto, have been closed for a full year – the longest shut-down in any city globally. Others, depending upon the province, had hoped to be reopening earlier this month, but have been delayed by the infection rate in the pandemic.

Around 25 FECs of different sizes are now open across the country, but another 35 are either poised to reopen or, like Toronto’s Ontario province, awaiting confirmation of an early June start.

Of the bigger locations, Playland in Vancouver will re-open tomorrow, May 25, but Calgary’s Calaway Park is waiting for confirmation. There is still no news for the big Wonderland at Toronto (pictured).
