There should be more equality in video games, says a UK Government committee. The games should feature more diverse characters to increase representation of women.

A government select committee has reported on immersive and addictive technologies, part of which supports the Tech Talent Charter that includes robust data reporting requirements and the Creative Industries Council Diversity Charter that operates across the creative industries.
“However, we agree that more work is needed jn the game sector, including addressing the gender imbalance and improving the representation of women and girls, both in the industry and within the content itself.”
Already signed up to a pledge to progress diversity are Xbox, King, EA, Jagex and Facebook.
