Embed Playsafe signed an agreement during this week's EAG Expo that will see UK retailer Bourne Leisure implement its debit card management system in its locations.
The agreement is a massive step not only for Embed Playsafe but for the UK amusement industry as a whole and is the first of its kind.
Speaking at the show, David Stenning of Embed Playsafe told InterGame: "We have been working very closely with Crown Direct on this and Ronnie Cryer of Bourne Leisure has been really involved in every stage and it has been very encouraging. Everyone is going into this with their eyes wide open as to what is going to be involved. It is a first for the UK industry, which needs an injection like this - it is a big step.
"The general public is looking for value entertainment and excitement," continued Stenning, "and there are a lot of good opportunities that can come from this agreement."
It was thought the Embed Playsafe system should be fully implemented and ready for operation by Easter.
