Seconds after UK Prime Minister Theresa May this morning called a surprise UK General Election for June 8, leading bookmakers were hurriedly sharing their odds on the outcome.

May's Conservative government clearly feels this an opportune moment to call an election and the early odds appear to back her decision with Paddy Power offering 8/13 on an outright Conservative majority, while the opposition Labour party look very long at 9/1.
Paddy Power also has the Conservatives at 1/5 to secure the most seats with Labour out at 4/1.
Betfred is even more confident of a Tory walkover, offering the Conservatives at 1/10 to win the most seats while Labour are at 7/1.
SkyBet also favours the Conservatives to win the most seats, at 1/10. The bookie has Sky at its longest odds yet, a distant 10/1 to have the most MPs after the June 8 poll.
