An immersive dark ride has reopened in an aquarium in Saint Malo, France, following BoldMove’s work to refurbish and retheme the attraction.
Located in the Grand Aquarium Saint Malo, the reimagined Expédition Nautibus underwater experience merges two rides, The Abyssal Descender and Nautibus, to offer a unified and immersive journey with a compelling story line.
BoldMove’s work included the transformation of the queueing system and preshow areas. The submarine vehicles have also undergone a full technical overhaul.
The entire process has a three-month timeline, and just one week to empty the tank for the first time in 24 years.
“It was challenging to coordinate in a very short timeline and under harsh circumstances all creative design and theming production, engineering and AV elements,” said Jérôme Delescaille, architect-design manager of BoldMove Nation, who was in charge of the project.
“Our team and involved partners delivered amazing work with a high level of quality and dedication. We are very pleased with the final result and hope that many visitors will enjoy this unique expedition during many years to come.”
