The local council in Blackpool, UK, is preparing to force through a move to build a £300m entertainment complex in the area, reports Place North West.

By exercising compulsory purchase powers, Blackpool Council can acquire 10 acres of land to make space for Nikal's £300m Blackpool Central entertainment complex, which would feature the UK's first "flying theatre."

The project’s anchor tenant will be a Chariots of The Gods entertainment park, an indoor theme and adventure park inspired by the 1968 bestselling book.

The development would also include a number of other attractions as well as apartments, a multistorey car park and two hotels.
