AstroSystems debuted a new bill acceptor design for cranes at this autumn's AMOA show held in Las Vegas.
The product moves the bill acceptor from the lower side of many machines to the console containing the joystick that operates the claw.
According to the manufacturer’s sales manager, Jeff Harm, the placement will result in more incremental play. "Jim Dupree of Smart Industries came to us with the design idea," he said. "From a bill acceptor standpoint, everyone was offering the same acceptor that you put in vending machines. This combines it with the player console specific to cranes."
Although the product was shown at the exhibition installed in Smart Industries’ Toy Chest crane, it does not have an exclusive agreement with Smart, opening up opportunities to other manufacturers and operators.
