The arcade operator has a lot to consider when filling a location with games and one of the most important aspects when developing an effective gaming floor is the correct utilisation of space. It may seem counterproductive to use up this finite resource with big, space-consuming games, but the impression made on the consumer translates to a high return on investment, said Sammy Harrison of Bay Tek Games. “The vertical presence of large games draws players for being naturally eye-catching,” she said. “They make an impact in a game room because of their size. There’s also a novelty associated with it. You can’t get this same experience anywhere other than a game room. If you have a smaller video game, it’s something that might be in your home game room. But these giant games are impossible to replicate. You need to leave the home and visit an entertainment centre to experience them fully.”
