Dutch airbag manufacturer BigAirBag has seen a change of ownership.

Having plans to pursue other interests, Hans Weeren has sold his shares to co-owner and CEO, Tomas Huting.
“While the news may seem sad at first to some of our loyal customers, this is also an exciting opportunity for me to continue taking BigAirBag to new heights,” said Huting.
The CEO explained that when the pair first set up their own factory, one of the main goals was not only to improve BigAirBag’s existing products but to also provide the facilities to focus on innovation so it could serve a wider range of customer.
Huting revealed that the company already has a handful of products in the testing phase, such as BigAirBag Foam Pit Cleaner, but moving forward, it has plans to work on various turnkey concepts too.
“BigAirBag will continue to take massive leaps forward to ensure we always deliver quality, durable and innovative products. The only difference is that I will have both hands on the wheel, instead of one,” Huting said.
“While this may seem like the end,” said Weeren, “this is actually the start of an exciting new chapter ahead for both of us!
“Since 2015, we have worked tirelessly to put BigAirBag back on the map. We’ve sold and installed projects in every continent, helped athletes win Olympic medals and put smiles on the faces of many kids.
Weeren continued: “It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to travel the world, meet so many great people along the way and follow my dream of building this company into what it is today. Now it’s time for a fresh chapter. Having worked in partnership with Tomas over the past four years, I know he’ll continue to apply the same passion and dedication to push BigAirBag to even greater success.
“In the meantime, I will start using some of the vacation days I never knew I had and plan my next investment with a cold beer in hand!”
BigAirBag manufactures landing bags for trampoline parks, adventure parks, skate and bike parks, ski resorts and for special events and marketing.
