The 12th annual Big Buck World Championship, organised by Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix, will be broadcast on the US sports channel ESPN for the second year on August 7.

Big Buck tournament returns to ESPN

The tournament will be presented as part of ESPN’s The Ocho, a 24-hour celebration of some of the strangest sports and activities the world has to offer. The Ocho is a reference to the movie Dodgeball, in which it is the fictional sports channel that covers the event.

World championships in sign spinning, axe throwing, cherry spitting and chess boxing will also featuring as part of The Ocho.

“The Big Buck World Championship brings players together from all over the world. It is the premier arcade esports event of the year,” said Play Mechanix president, George Petro.

The 30-minute segment will highlight the Big Buck Hunter community and some of its most passionate players as they shoot their way to the finals in the 2019 ladies’ tournament and world championship.
