Funding is being put together to finance Arcade Dreams, a documentary on the 100-year history of amusement arcades.

The money to prepare the documentary is being raised through Kickstarter and already stands at US$20,000 towards the $95,000 needed to complete the exercise.
The campaign will run until December 5 and the film will be put together by Rock Steady Media that produced Viva Amiga. It will take viewers back to "the button-bashing temples of their youth and beyond in this multi-episode love letter" to arcades.
It is hoped to interview some leading lights in the industry, such as Eugene Jarvis, Gary Stern and Roger Sharpe.
Director Zach Weddington said: “Growing up in the ‘80s I was obsessed with arcades. In fact, I never stopped going to arcades. Now I get to turn this life-long passion into my dream documentary series.
"I have always wanted someone to create the definitive history of amusement arcades but nothing ever seemed to materialise. So I realised that I was going to have to do it myself.”
