US manufacturer Bay Tek Games is experiencing a positive response to its Beer Ball game in the US street market.
Speaking with InterGame at the recent EAS show in London, the manufacturer’s Adrian Drewitz said: “A lot of hand-holding had to be done in the beginning but Beer Ball is expanding well across the US and is making the move from tournament to leagues very well. Once an operator takes it on they do very well with it and we’ll continue to help them push forward with this.”
On the back of this success Bay Tek now plans to push the product into Europe and other territories and Harry Levy Amusements has been testing the product in the UK with some promising initial results. “One of the hurdles we face in Europe, however, is the size of the locations. The pubs are smaller and there isn’t the space you find in some of the bars in the US. There is also a different culture in European bars to those in the US.
“The industry as a whole is moving more towards full weather entertainment locations and we’re hoping casual play continues to grow in appeal, particularly in the bars.”
